Gillian Rae is the youngest of the Rae family siblings. Although music is not her main line of work, she did study when she was younger and played cornet and bodrahn. She still plays the bodrahn and has, in the past, played with the likes of Tommy Smith, Sandy Wright, John and Gina Rae, Kevin McKenzie, Freddie Thomson and Eilidh Shaw amongst others. She also sings very well although rarely in public.
You will often see Gillian helping her sister Cathie with the arts administration for the Fionna Duncan Vocal Jazz Workshops and managing her big sister's tours. Although you don't often hear about her musically she is heavily involved in other parts of the family business.
